DURING TREATMENT

Minor Discomfort – It is normal to feel a little discomfort or pressure on your teeth the first day you are wearing a new set of aligners.

Every 12 weeks you will return to the office for a short, 15 minute appointment the orthodontist can check your progress to make sure everything is going well and dispense your next series of aligner trays!

It usually takes about 4-6 weeks from the time of the exam with Dr. Virk until we get the aligners delivered! Then you are ready to start straightening your teeth! You will wear a set of aligners for 1 week at a time.

If you lose or break an aligner, please let us know right away. We will work with you to create a plan which may involve wearing a previous set of aligners, your next set of aligners, or ordering replacements aligners.

Yes, you can remove your Invisalign aligners for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. You can take them off for special occasions, like a wedding, job interview, or for playing your favorite sport or instrument. Just remember to wear them 20 to 22 hours a day to get the best results.

None! Invisalign clear aligners are removable, so there are no food restrictions at all.

Invisalign treatment moves your teeth by applying gentle, constant force, but some people do feel temporary discomfort for the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. Typically, people describe it as feeling “pressure” and it’s normal — it’s a sign your Invisalign clear aligners are working and transforming your smile.

Yes. As your Invisalign aligners gradually shift your teeth into their proper position, your gums are re-forming around each tooth as it moves.

You can clean your aligners by brushing them with a toothbrush and toothpaste and then rinsing them in lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, as it could warp the plastic!

Yes, things like red pasta sauce and coffee could potentially stain your aligners. That’s why it’s important to take them out at every meal and brush before you out them back in.
